UPDATES

Changed my running log up a little bit. Trying to make it look a little better. I've been neglecting this blog over the last month. I'm pretty sure I'll be continuing that. It happens. As technology changes, popularity changes also. Blogger needs to update it's photo uploading. It's pretty irritating to have to load 5 pictures at a time and then rearrange them because they are all out of order. It also adds a line of empty space for every picture loaded (For example: the 15th picture I load also loads 15 lines in between, etc... The 40th picture also loads 40 empty lines.) It takes more time to delete lines and format than it does to type or just give up and load them on facebook.
Anyway, not much going on right now. Our second trip to NY was awesome! We took lots of pictures (stupid blogger). Most of them are on Facebook. Mom loved it! She was bug-eyed the whole trip. I think she was nervous the first night when we walked around at midnight. Wes flew up and stayed with us the last two nights. He went to the Statue of Liberty while I was running the marathon, so on the Saturday that we were there, he slept in and Mom & I went together. We got to see the Rockettes, Wicked, and spent nearly every night at the Rockefeller tree. The Waldorf hotel was amazing! And the limo tour was great! I totally recommend it! Had the Best pizza in the world at John's Pizzeria at Times Square! Here's a picture of us at the tree.

Wes graduated from MSU last month! YEAH!!! Now we're job hunting. Anyone have any ideas or leads?? He has a degree in Business Administration/Accounting. He's pretty much willing to do anything and go anywhere. We're hoping he has something within two months. That'd be nice. Here's a picture from Graduation.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas! We sure did. We enjoyed spending time with family and friends all over Mississippi.
On January 21st, I will be donating bone marrow to a stranger. (Refer to previous post) I have to go to Jackson. The Donor Registry will put us up in a hotel and buy our meal the night before.

Please pray that all goes well for Wes' job hunt and whatever comes with it.

blah January...

Not a whole lot going on lately... Started running the trails again... Tim and I started back last week. (http://www.bonitarunningclub.com/) It's pretty hard on me right now... I am also starting back on weights and abs. My back and abs are really sore... Plus I haven't run any hard courses since before the marathon. The trails will kick your butt! They kicked mine today. I'll get it back my strength soon though. My goal for this year is to beat last years time. Since we've started the trails already, I should be in tip-top shape to handle any hill or weather situation...
I've been seriously thinking about Chicago for my next race... (October 10) I want to do a larger city this time. Memphis was an awesome first marathon. The only thing that was hard on me was when the half marathoners split off at mile 12, I was almost entirely alone for the rest of the race. My friend Melissa ran Chicago last year and she said it was packed the whole way. I think that will help me greatly. It will definitely keep me stay mentally focused.
I signed up for a few local races. Well I should say statewide...there's ZERO races in Meridian... Ok, there's four a year. That's it. Anyway, One's in Vicksburg and I think Mom and maybe Dad will come. Planning on staying with Aunt Deb and Uncle Ken. There's another one in Jackson the next week that Tim & Aspen are running too. There's a 10K on one of the weekends that Wes is in South Korea. Maybe Mom & Dad will drive over with me. It's in Jackson too.
OH yeah.... Wes is going to South Korea & Hong Kong in May for a school leadership program. :) He's really excited about it. (Wish I could go!) Oh well.

Wes started back to school finally!! He's been bored. Had over a month off for the holidays and then returned for one day. Then the "snow storm" came and they cancelled school for a few days. The next week was normal, then MLK day. Now I think he'll be on a regular schedule for a while, which I think he's looking forward to. OH, and I got him to go to the gym this weekend!!!! PROGRESS!! :)

Pete leaves in just a few weeks. Trying not to freak out. Trying to be strong for Mom & Dad, but I don't know if I can maintain that this time... Wes probably won't be able to go to Indiana because of school. He leaves on February 17th. There's a family "sendoff" ceremony on Monday, February 15th. That's the ONLY day we'll be able to spend with him. And we only get 5 HOURS! He only gets 5 hours of free time before he deploys.... not enough time... No one's real happy about it, but at least we get that. Ok. enough about that...

Happy Anniversary to us!! :)

Today is our 4th year anniversary. :) Yeah! We don't really have any plans. We're going out to dinner. We're saving money for our vacation. Plus I have work and Wes has school. He started his 3 summer classes this week. I also signed up for A&P 1 for the fall semester. A&P 1&2 are pre-requisites for the x-ray program.

Last week, Wes dove into a new house project... a Rain Barrel. More like a rain trough. (It's larger than I thought it would be.) We have the large stainless steel trough-like container next to the carport. He replaced the downspout from the gutter and now it pours into the barrel. He put all this together a few days after it rained like 5 inches within a few days. It hasn't rained since... There's no water in it... Hopefully we'll get some use out of it soon... I'll take a picture of it and post.

Papaw is doing better. He's gaining strength every day. Our hope is that he will continue to get stronger. His spirits are high and he's pretty proud of the progress he's made with his physical therapy. It's the first thing he talks about when I go by and see him. Mom is doing better as well. She's been out of the house several times. Dad has gotten on to her because she's done too much at times. :)
