This week has been pretty easy... Ran 7 miles on Tuesday and went to the eye doc. Yesterday I went to the dentist...fun. Ran 6 3/4 miles today. Been facebooking a lot lately... yeah, yeah... I know.


Papaw went back into the Hospital today. Mom says he's dehydrated and really weak. Please pray for him. I'm staying with him tonight.

Okay, so the other day I was thinking about how bad of a friend I am. I never call anybody. I never hang out with anyone. I'm completely anti-social. This became reiterated when my Mother told me the other day that she was talking to one of my brother's high school friends on facebook. It's not that I don't want to be social, it's just the way I am.
So, here we go. In order to counteract my anti-socialism(is that a word?), I am going to give in to conformity and yes, create a facebook page. Just a facebook, not a myspace....

Never thought I'd say this....

The new Star Trek movie was really really good! I took Mom to lunch and a movie. Excellent movie. Mom loved it! There were several cameos in the movie. Leonard Nemoy for one. There were several other folks I recognized from Alias... Rachel from the last two seasons (she was a green uh.. species?)... Carrie, Marshall's wife as well...

I just saw a promo for Army Wives' new season... Starts June 7.

Went running this morning...

I did 7 miles. It was HOT!!! My knee hurts too.... Don't know what that's about. I haven't ran since Monday because it's been sooo darn hot and humid!

Pretty uneventful week. Boredom at work. Wes finished his semester this week. (All A's might I add!) Summer term start May 26th. Today we went to the co-op and got a waterlily for the fish tank. We've been wanting something to put in there for a while. No where around here sells water lilies much. If it works out, we might get another one, slowly replacing all the ugly fake plants. Later Ken & Deb brought Papaw by the house for a quick visit. His breathing is terrible. Please pray for him.

Surprising Mom tomorrow.... Can't tell yet.

Today we've been watching Ace of Cakes... Tonight's new episode is when they go to Hawaii and make LOST's 100th episode cake.... Next week is the season finale.

Business Student of the Year!!!!

Wes received an award tonight from MCC. He is this years "Outstanding Business Student." He had a 4.0 GPA in his business classes... Yeah Wes! Ain't he cute!!

My Right Arm is dead!

I am sore! I weed-eated the yard today. It was HOT! I stirred up a lot of ants... (Wes is going to ridicule me for this because he's been helping his Dad in their yard all day).

I did run yesterday, but as usual, electronics are stupid, so my iPod decided to be stupid yesterday. It wouldn't load my miles and I ended up having to restore it (for the third time!). So my counter is now off my 12 miles (I did 4.5 yesterday + the last two times iPod got stupid=approx. 12 mi)

I ran on Monday. It's too hot!! I rode the bike around the neighborhood yesterday. I want to ride to work, but it's now 85 degrees at 1pm everyday. Too HOT!!!! I was going to run this morning, but was too lazy to get up... Must go tomorrow......... I'm doing good with not eating as much sweets. I'm sticking to gum and the occasional RingPop!! No cookies.. no cakesters (i ran out this weekend), no chocolate stuff...

Wes & I walked around in the yard this morning. (It smells so great!!!) This weekend, I think we are going to clean out some flower beds and weed. His watermelon and canteloupe plants are growing pretty good. He'll probably plant them in the next week or so.

LOST was excellent last night... Did anyone else see the Flash Foward promos?? We fast-fowarded through commercials, so I only caught one. There were 5. Wonder what that's about????

Today was a good day. A good weekend actually. Yesterday, I ran 6 or so and then hung out around the house mostly. I had planned to install RS (Rosetta Stone), but ended up defragmenting the computer first and that took all night. Today, Papaw was at church, so Mom & Dad came as well. Afterwords, Wes had to go to work - :( - while we went to Cracker Barrel. Uncle Johnny was in town from Colorado Springs (HEY UNCLE J!!!) and ate with us.

Then I went to Bonita and ran the trails. A guy I work with has been doing them for a while and keeps talking about how "great" it is. (I haven't been back there in a while.) So I decided to try it. It was an experience. Just like the roads here in town, the place was not marked all that well. So yes, I did loose my way a bit.... I started out okay. I chose the bike/hiking trail instead of the gravel roadway. I thought it would be fun. It was... Until about two miles in, I was jogging along, enjoying myself with my music going. All of a sudden I hear this shuffling noise and look down at a big black snake about 5 feet in front of me, heading across my path and down the hill. (I ended up seeing another snake and I also scared off a deer.) I nearly peed on myself. From then on, I kept watching the brush around me and listening for other unwelcomed animals... That was my first (only, really) mistake. I'm trucking along and I come to a turn, stop for a second for some water and look up and see a green marker. What??? I had been following the blue markers! Somehow I missed a turn or something, and ended up on a different trail. Oh well. I'd rather be on the wrong trail then no trail at all. So, I don't know how long I was on the green trail, so I decide to keep going. A couple miles later, I come down a hill and there is about 4 feet of slush and mud. Then I noticed the huff prints... I was on the horse trail!!! Great! So I have to find a way to get over this mud hole. I trot through the brush to get around it. No problem. Well, long story short, there were about 6 more of those low places in the trail with water, mush and mud. One of them was basically a creek! Luckily there was a big tree that had fallen over it, so I walked across it. I wasn't all that lucky though. I sank my shoes in the mud a few times! They aren't so new looking anymore. ( I washed them twice with oxyclean and color-safe bleach... Still brown!) I wandered around the horse trails for a long time before I found "civilization" (the gravel road). I decided to stick to the road... Turns out I wasn't that far off the bike path. I was about 4 miles from my car. Anyway, I was fun! I'll probably do it again... I'll watch for the markers a little more closely though!!
