Now mini-me's happy.

4.8 miles today!! Now she's moving!

My little mini-me is bored...

My little Nike "me" is bored. I didn't know this until today, but if I don't update it, it slows down. Notice now it's walking and playing paddle ball... It's a little cynical too. That actually motivates me to run more because I feel kind of sorry for it!! I'm going this weekend!! I promise!

The week that was...

Crazy awful!! OMG... If I had the financial means to do what I wanted to do right now, I would have done it on Tuesday!!! Had I had the strength and the mindset that day, I more than likely would have done it without thought to the consequences.

It's over now. Just pray that I can maintain appearances......

I've come to realize that this blog is turning into a rant page more than anything else. I'm trying to talk more about things that I actually care about... family, running, etc. But I find myself talking more about the negative. So as a new "late" resolution is to be more positive... Like I said.. maintain appearances. Hold it together....

So anyway, this week I have been sick. I woke up on Sunday with a bad sore throat. I didn't leave the house. (FYI: I'm now on Season 3 of Alias). Monday I felt worse but went to work. Tuesday was the worst day ever. The rest is details that I'd like to forget.... Long story short, I am feeling better today. Unfortunately, Wes is starting to feel sick. I hope he doesn't get as bad as I did.

Hopefully, things will get back to normal now. I haven't been able to run since Friday. I'm going this weekend...no matter what the weather is like.

Darn Caleb!!!!

This guy I work with, Caleb (who's a smoker BTW) has been coughing up lungs for weeks. He's always sick and I've been avoiding him at all costs and using hand sanitizer and Lysol like an addiction. Well, that wasn't enough! This morning I woke up and my throat felt like someone had rubbed it with sandpaper all night. I've barely got a voice.

Anyone know where I can get a big plastic bubble??? Or a good work at home job? Or how about a new job for Caleb!!! Maybe he needs a plastic bubble.

:)

We didn't go to church today. Wes is avoiding me so he won't get sick. I'm on my fourth episode of Alias. It's only 3:00. He went and got me some medicine. I'm feeling a little better.

Next week is Dad's birthday! He'll be 53. Next week is also the twins birthdays. They'll be 10. There birthday party is Saturday. Adam's birthday is the week after that.

Thinking about getting a bicycle......

Lost Season 5

Well, It's finally here! Last nights episode was intense. I won't go into detail as not to spoil it for anyone.... But there were several questions answered and a few more asked....

(I'm watching Alias right now BTW!)

Not much is going on recently. Work is still well, work. Ran 3 miles yesterday. Tomorrow's high is near 70. I'm hoping to do at least 6...

Somebody give me something to write about.... I'm running dry......

Phew.......

I don't know about anyone else, but I am officially Obama'd out! It's been nothing but politics for like 2 years for me! Having lived in South Carolina, an early primary state, we got hit with it full force back when there were 8 or 9 candidates on each side. Every other day there was a candidate in town or a debate or something. After all this, I'm just glad it's finally over. (Don't take this the wrong way. I'm glad we have a new president and I know we all have witnessed a truly historic event.) Today was just too much. Most people took time out of their day to watch the inaugural speech and then went back to work. I couldn't. We watched the speech and the farewell to the Bushes and a little bit after that. I enjoyed it. But then I had to go to work and sat there all day watching every band in the parade, every dinner and every car ride, every dance and everyones opinion of everything in between....

Tonight, I think I'll leave the TV off and take a nice long bath.

stepping stones and page 47 revisited...

I'm watching Alias right now... :)
Today was great! Today was Bro. Danny's first Sunday. There was not an empty seat in the house. Afterwards Wes & I, along with Allen, a guy from work who was visiting, and Wade & Crystal went to eat at El Norte. When we got home, I took off down the road. It was a great day for a run. I did 6 miles. My back is a little sore because of my new shoes. I haven't broke them in good yet. I may sit out tomorrow. I joined a few challenges and training routines on Nikeplus.com. I can upload my running info and it will keep up with whatever training I choose. It's pretty cool. One of the challenge groups is for the Bridge Run.

I got a fortune cookie the other day that I think applies to several things going on for me right now. I taped it to the doorkey I use for work. It says: "Your problem just became your stepping stone. Catch the moment."

New shoes....

Got me some new running shoes today. Nike's. I like them. I think they'll be great. My old ones are tearing up. The heels are nearly ripped out. This week I've "spun" twice and ran 5K on the treadmill. Its supposed to be FREEEEZZZZZIINNN the rest of the week. Lows around 14!!! Ouch!

Not much else going on. Wes started back to school last week.

LOST STARTS NEXT WEEK!!!!

You're right B! Thank God It's Friday!!!

Whew! Am I glad this week is over!! Today was brutal at work!!!

I didn't go to spin class today. Wes & I both were really feeling it. I did run yesterday, so that added to my aches. Instead, I had lunch with an old friend today. Kim called me. It was quite enjoyable I must say. I was uncertain at first. I'm not known for maintaining quality friendships with people. For some reason, I'd always thought that Kim and I wouldn't be able to reconnect. We hadn't really talked one on one since right after school. But we had a pleasant conversation and a nice lunch. Hopefully, we can do it again. She works across the road from the station. It was also my third time at Deli on 5th this week....

Rear Pain.......

Started going to a spin class today... (My rear end hurts right now!!) Wes is going to start going on Wednesday. It's every Mon, Wed & Fri. I enjoyed the class, even though there was only one other person in there. Hopefully my uh, rear end pain will go away before then....

Mom and I went to Jackson to Amy's Christmas shower on Saturday. I should have brought the Wes' GPS, because we went around the world to get to the house only to realize we were not half a mile away. We also spent two hours in Hobby Lobby. Most stores have already gotten rid of all their Christmas stuff by now. Hobby Lobby had about 10 aisles of stuff for 80% off. That's why it took us so long! We racked up. People were fighting over wreaths and greenery and stuff. It was fun.

Happy New Year!!!

I have hardly ever really celebrated New Year's. Especially this year. I spent the hour before and after researching hotels for the Bridge Run in April. I found one, so I have already accomplished one goal this year! (The other is to run a marathon... I'm still holding out hope!) John Johnson, the news director at work, just finished his second. I told him I wanted to do one and that I needed someone to do it with me. You know, accountability and all that. I need the motivation of someone else to help me stick with it. I told him I want to run his next one with him. I think that will be Chicago in November. We're possibly going to try to do a few half marathons this summer. He's proven that he can stick with it, I just hope I can stick with it.... We'll see.

Wes joined the gym yesterday!! YEAH!!!!! No we can go together. We went last night. I ran a 5K on the treadmill while he mulled around from machine to machine. (His iPod was dead.) I also donated blood at MASH BASH yesterday. After I ran, I started to do reverse sit-ups, but nearly blacked out. Wes had to help me sit down. NOTE TO SELF: Don't do sit ups after giving blood. I felt better after all the blood settled back where it supposed to be. There were a few minutes there that I was unsure of.
